How to speed up fading process in fashion jewelry?

I bought a pair of gold heart fashion earrings awhile ago-But since it’s fashion jewelry(not real gold or silver), the gold finish has worn off most of one of the earrings so now it’silver. But the other earring is still gold-how can I make the gold finish wear off the other earring so both earrings match?
What does shower with them on xd mean?
